Baptism of the Holy Spirit Part XXXIV 091108
We conclude our teaching on the baptism of the Holy Spirit on this week's broadcast as we talk about the gifts of the Spirit, namely tongues and interpretation of tongues. Paul thanked God that he spoke in tongues "more than you all" as he was addressing the church in Corinth. He also said that he would pray in the Spirit and he would pray in his understanding. This means that Paul prayed in the Spirit at will. Praying in the Spirit is speaking unto God, in mysteries. Praying in the Spirit has an important place in the body of Christ as does speaking in tongues in a church setting, but publicly it must be done decently and orderly. There must be an interpreter. An interpretation of tongues is a type of prophesy. When we pray in the Spirit or pray in tongues, it is the Holy Spirit praying through us in a way that we could not pray for ourselves. Praying in the Spirit is praying the perfect will of the Father.

Thanks for your truth. These gifts are not being used as God intended. My prayer is for Christians to be filled with such a hunger for God that these gifts will flow naturally as a reflex before the Christian has time to think about it. Keep it coming.
